Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary
Val and I started our day very early. We went to hear mass to thank the Lord for the 2 wonderful years in our marriage.
This was me and Val 2 years ago on our wedding day.
It was a very memorable event, one that Val and I would recall with felicity and talk about until the rest of our lives. This is me and Val today.
Looks like we haven’t changed much. As you can see, we had our photo taken inside the Parish Church of Guadalupe, where we currently reside.
Like always, Val and I celebrate with food. So when we arrived home, he cooked humba, a pork dish that is very popular here in Cebu. I would have to ask for his recipe because it was really delicious. I sometimes do not approve of Val’s cooking, but he surely nailed this one. After lunch, Val had to leave for a job interview, I was left alone to cook spaghetti. I totally forgot that I put my mobile phone in silent mode when we went to church that morning and I got carried away with cooking and many other stuff. It was pretty late when I had the chance to check on my phone. There was one message from an LBC guy asking for landmarks and directions to our place. I wasn’t expecting any package, but I was beginning to suspect that it had to be a surprise from Val. I asked him about it the moment he arrived, but he denied that he had anything to do with it. He even acted like a jealous husband questioning me who it can possibly come from. Unfortunately, I didn’t get another message from the LBC guy until around 7 o’clock in the evening. He promised to deliver the package the following day. When Val and I were about to go to bed, he pulled me close to him looking sorry. Then he confessed that he was supposed to surprise me with flowers and a box of chocolate. He was very apologetic that it didn’t happen the way he wanted to. It crushed my heart to see him like that and I was moved to tears because I remember Val, my boyfriend some years ago. He’s the kind to surprise you with flowers, leave you with sweet little love notes, or bring home something to delight you. That’s the kind of boyfriend I had and now, it’s still the kind of husband I have. I was absolutely overwhelmed! Even without flowers or gifts, it was still a very memorable way to end our anniversary day.
The following day, I waited all day long for nothing. The day after that, we were told by the customer service from the flower store that it was already received by the security guard. I went to pick it up from the guard house right away.
Liar liar?! First of all, LBC guy sent me the first message at almost 2 in the afternoon. Second of all, it was delivered late in the afternoon the following day. So much for posting that reminder on the box.
Wow, genuine! But even the best quality roses will wither if kept inside the box for too long and not delivered to its recipient as soon as possible.
There goes the goodies inside the box, a dozen roses and a box of Belgian chocolates!
I told you, even the best quality roses lose its beauty if not given special care.
Me and Val. I’m the rose… and Val’s the chocolate? Hahaha!
The bars of chocolate were also dying to get out of the box. They’re all looking great and tempting!
I followed the care tips that went along with the flowers and arranged them like so. I wanted to share what’s in the card, but I guess Val intended it for me alone. I took pictures of it but it’s going to be for my eyes only.
Well, what else can I say? It’s been a great journey with Val for the past 2 years. Although it doesn’t seem so long ago when we made our vows. Hopefully, we’ll have many more years abundant with love, happiness and God’s blessings.
